Watson House Open Today and other things
Here is it Watson
We can't believe how good it looks using this wide frame lense - and a good lot of lighting. Even the problem second bathroom - which we painted last weekend looks a picture in these photos......
We have paid the deposit for Scribbly Gums and contracts should exchange next week....... soon it is ours..... whoooooohoooooo
Matt is having a great time overseas and has actually updated his blog...... it is a week out of date but that is fine - at least we know he is having a fine time.....
Here is the link to Matt's Blog
I had the best day yesterday and scrapped all day while Phil put some finishing touches to Watson prior to it being open today for inspection. It was wonderful, slopping around in slippers and creating.
Anyway - it is almost 12 and I need to pop into the shower (I have done some stuff around the house) ..... off to pottery today at 2pm.
Here is something I wrote for the 'Colours of Love ATC Swap' (warnign higly and unashamedly romantic!
The Colours of Love
White is for the pure heart.
Red is for roses and romance.
Grey is because love is not black and white,
but always in shades of grey.
Black is because sometimes itis due to the black times,
that ou love is strengthened.
Gold is for the ring I wear that reminds me,
I am loved unconditionally.
Have a great day everyone
Love
Carol

Hi everyone
I thought the best thing to do was a quick post to say all is well and I will try to catch up on the news and some scrapping on the weekend!
Last weekend we finalised Phils house ready for selling and worked hard to do it....however it is now open on Saturday and the stress levels have reduced markedly.
The contracts have been viewed by the solicitor and Phil will go in and look at them tomorrow - Scribbly Gums is getting closer.
At work we are about to launch Althea Wellness Centre which is just fabulous....and I am trying to stay in budget - which is no mean feat I can tell you. The best thing is that we have the support of many organisations who will be providing the clinics and a previous work colleague of mine from St John Ambulance has come on board to be the Mother and Child nurse.
We are looking forward to the long weekend with Ross and Sonya in Queensland and then Mum and Dad are going up a few days later to catch up with them and enjoy the warmth.
Matt is overseas and must be having a great time because I haven't heard anything for a while - I said to him have a great time and don't worry about calling me on 'Skype' just enjoy yourself - and he must be doing that because I haven't heard anything for a few days - great! He should be starting his trip into Europe in the next day or so! I will post a photo or two if he sends me any!!
Jess is doing great and Jason is recovering form the nasty flu that has been around lately. They are terrific!
Having a lunch with the girls soon and all is well....... promise to put some things up of interest on the weekend
Till then
Have fun

I cant believe Matt, my son, is going overseas in 2 days time - I love the fact that he is doing that - and he will have a wonderful time..... though I will miss him heaps.... He will have great adventures and meet lots of new people he has a travel blog: matts blog
Jessica and Jason are going great, Jess is doing some travel for work and is emjoying her job more than the old one. Jason has assisted us and is hosting the scribbly gums website - I will let you know about it when I do more work on it.
Scribbly Gums is waiting for us - we are just finalising the finance..... can't wait to spend a few weekends out there!! Especially as work is pretty crazy at present - great but crazy!
Mum and Dad are great and looked really well when I saw them today. They will be visiting Ross and Sonya from the 13th June ...... and Phil and I will be up there the long weekend in June - they might have to have a holiday to relax after all the visits from the 'rellies'
I better go and help Phil with dinner.......
I like this one even though I didn't get it in for Mothers Day (rather long sorry!!)......
Somebody said that a mother is an unskilled laborer..
Somebody said it takes about six weeks to get back to normal after you've had a baby..(Somebody doesn't know that once you're a mother, "NORMAL" is history)
Somebody said you learn how to be a mother by instinct..
Somebody said being a mother is boring..(Somebody never rode in a car driven by a teenager with a driver's permit)
Somebody said teacher's, psychologists and pediatricians know more about children than their mothers..(Somebody hasn't invested her heart in another human being)
Somebody said if you're a "GOOD" mother, your child will "TURN OUT".. (Somebody thinks a child is like a bag of plaster of paris that comes with directions, a mold and a guarantee)
Somebody said being a mother is what you do in your spare time..(Somebody doesn't know that when you're a mother, "SPARE TIME" doesn't exist anymore)
Somebody said "GOOD" mothers never raise their voices..
Somebody said you don't need an education to be a mother..(Somebody never helped a 4th grader with his math)
Somebody said you can't love the fifth child as much as you love the first..(Somebody doesn't have 5 children)
Somebody said a mother can find all the answers to her child-rearing questions in the books..
Somebody said the hardest part of being a mother is labor and delivery.. (Somebody never watched her child get on the bus for the first time on the first day of kindergarten)
Somebody said a mother can do her job with her eyes closed and one hand tied behind her back..(Somebody never organized seven giggling Brownies to sell cookies)
Somebody said that a mother can stop worrying after her child gets married.. (Somebody doesn't know that marriage adds a new son or daughter-in-law to a mother's heartstrings)
Somebody said that a mother's job is done when her last child leaves home.. (Somebody never had grandchildren)
Happy belated mothers day to all the Mums that read this blog, and to all those women who may not be mothers but who care for others as if they were your own.....

New Paintings
Please forgive me that I don't know some of the names of these flowers but they were so wonderful I had to do the paintings anyway....everything is so lush and gorgeous up there in tropical Australia - I had such a wonderful time - and I ran out of paper - all in all I did 8 paintings but I could have done more there were so many flowers.

Pink bush - we thought it looked a bit like a pointsettia... the leaves make up the coloured bracts and the flower is the tiny bud at the top.
Purple vine which was growing through the trees
HeleconiaWe visited the Cairns Botanical Gardens on Thursday and found that the gingers and heleconias were awesome - such amazing plants. We will go again next year and then I am taking double the paper I took this year.
Love
Carol
Please note that all paintings are copyright and you are welcome to look but please do not print or copy. I will be setting up a website soon so people can purchase original paintings, prints or cards...... this will link into that new website.
